Tankard to lead RDFNL Senior Interleague

Ontime Delivery Solutions Riddell District Football Netball League are pleased to announce Ben Tankard as the senior football coach for the 2019 interleague season.

Tankard who coached Macedon last season is excited by the prospect of coaching some of the best players the league has to offer.

“I am very passionate about showcasing the Riddell District Football Netball League and trying to climb the rankings again this season,” Tankard said.

“There are some really good footballers running around in this league and hopefully we can get a lot of those players on the park and show everyone how strong the league is.”

Tankard has a distinguished career in football having coached and played for several years.

In recent times Tankard has held coaching positions at Macedon FNC, Taylors Lakes, Birchip- Watchem and Doutta Stars while the highlight of his playing career was a stint with Vic Metro at junior level.

Doyle was elated to have Tankard onboard.

“The RDFNL are very excited to have Ben as the Senior Interleague Coach for 2019,” Doyle said.

“He brings a wealth of experience to the role from his playing days and as a coach, and we are confident that he will do a great job.

We face a big challenge against the SFNL who are a strong and proud league with a rich history, and we hope that Ben’s appointment will encourage the best players across the RDFNL competition to be involved in the 2019 Senior Interleague campaign.”

The RDFNL pass on their thanks to Arron ‘’Skip’’ Bray for his contribution over the past two years as Senior Interleague Coach.
Under Skip, the RDFNL enjoyed two wins and we wish him all the best for his future coaching commitments.

RDFNL will host the Southern Football Netball League at a venue yet to be decided.

RDFNL were victorious last year over the Central Highlands Football League while the Southern FNL defeated the North Central FNL.

It is hoped that the RDFNL can continue to build a strong interleague program as they look to secure three consecutive wins at the Worksafe AFL Victoria Community Championship.
